Welcome to Nero – the dog training company with a difference.
It all began with a second – hand underdog.
Named after and inspired by our own ‘underdog to wonder dog’ story , we offer a unique service that will guide and support you towards achieving the bond that you and your dog deserve. Whatever your doggy dilemma, we are here to coach, educate and motivate you towards your desired relationship with your woofer. Whether you’re new to the dog dimension or a seasoned pup owner, we teach you how to have that canine conversation.
We understand that dog training never has and never will be ‘one size fits all.’ We know through experience that the dynamics of every dog and human relationship are individual, which is why we tailor the training techniques specific to your situation. We focus on coaching both ends of the leash in a relaxed, non judgemental environment so both canine and human can thrive and succeed. Our ultimate goal is to show you how to read and understand not just your own dog but the canine species as a whole. Our aim to make you ”more dog.”
We’re proud to be the only established English dog training service here in The Netherlands, meaning we are a favourite not only with the locals but with expats from around the world that find themselves on Dutch soil!

Nero – the original Underdog
“Our Nero journey began when I adopted my bigger than average German Shepherd from the local animal shelter. He had been branded ‘out of control,’ with aggression issues towards both dogs and humans and had been up for adoption for some time before I found him. I knew I would have to work hard to rehabilitate his behaviour so he could become the dog he longed to be. Nero had been evaluated by multiple professionals in the field prior to coming home, each to no avail. Knowing this, I jumped straight into studying various training techniques, attending courses and understanding the world of canine psychology, positive reinforcement, balanced rehabilitation and clicker training to help resolve his issues. By mixing motivation, rewards and play with clear limitations, knowledge of body language and a calm approach, I soon realised that all the training ideologies could be combined to transform behaviour and build the bond between dog and human. Practicing being mindfully aware and emotionally in tune with my dog and our surroundings allowed me to expose Nero to the outside world, the public and eventually other dogs.
Recording our progress via my dog blog and Instagram accounts received so much support and questions from around the world that I decided it was time to share my discoveries with other dog owners and thus ‘Nero dog training’ was born. Knowledge, patience and temperament is key when dealing with animals. Altering a dogs behaviour is possible as long as you are willing to commit to your cause.
Our beloved Nero sadly crossed the rainbow bridge in November 2017. Words cannot describe the bond I shared with my boy. I’m so thankful our paths crossed at the shelter that day and for all the wonderful memories we made together. He was an ambassador for second hand dogs and helped assist countless canines and owners overcome their fears. Besides being my greatest teacher, guide and muse, Nero was my best friend and a much cherished member of our family. My heart broke having to make that awful decision that every dog owner dreads and I miss him every single day. But my underdog left behind a legacy for me to continue in his name and in his spirit. His passing has fuelled my fire to pursue my purpose and mission, for Nero and for dogs and owners everywhere.”
